Sukhumvit is located about 25km from Bangkok Airport (Suvarnabhumi) and there are 4 ways to get to it, i.e. shuttle bus, private transfer, public taxi, and train. Below are the details for each of the transportation options:

1. Shuttle Bus

There is a direct shuttle bus (bus number 522) from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Sukhumvit and it’s the cheapest option of all. The bus takes you to On Nut BTS Bus Station, where you can walk or take a taxi to your destination.

Below are the details of taking the bus:

  • Cost: THB 50 – THB 90 per person
  • Travel duration: 70-90 minutes
  • Seating accommodation: AC, comfortable seat
  • Suitable for: Passengers with at most 2 luggage
  • Additional information: The bus leaves every 30-35 mins.

2. Private Transfer

Private transfer is the most expensive transportation option of all, but also the best in our opinion due to comfort and personalization. There are various private transfer companies to choose from and each offers various options, such as Sedan cars, vans, or even luxury limousines. You can either book these directly from the BKK or search online for the one that suits your budget and requirements.

Below are the details of taking the private transfer:

  • Cost: THB 900 – THB 1,800 per trip
  • Travel duration: 30-45 minutes
  • Seating accommodation: AC, comfortable seat with privacy
  • Suitable for: All types of passengers
  • Additional information: The service includes everything, making it a hassle-free and seamless travel experience.

3. Public Taxi

Public taxi is the most preferred choice travel due to the affordable travel cost and door-to-door service, just like the private transfer. Taxis can be taken directly from the Suvarnabhumi, located at the taxi on level 1 of the airport terminal.

Below are the details of taking the public tax:

  • Cost: THB 400 – THB 600 per trip, excluding toll taxes
  • Travel duration: 30-45 minutes
  • Seating accommodation: AC, comfortable seat with privacy
  • Suitable for: 2-4 passengers with 2-5 luggage.
  • Additional information: Public taxis operate on a metered basis. So avoid the one that refuses to use the meter as it’s one of the common scams in Thailand.

4. Train

There is no direct train to Sukhumvit from Suvarnabhumi Airport. To transport, first travel to Phaya Thai Station from the airport using the Airport Rail Link (ARL). Then from there, take the BTS Skytrain Sukhumvit Line and once you reach the end of the station, you can take a taxi or walk to your desired destination.

Below are the details of taking the train:

  • Cost: THB 70 – THB 120 for the train, excluding additional taxi cost
  • Travel duration: 30 minutes to Phaya Thai Station, 30 minutes to the end of BTS station, and additional time to your destination.
  • Seating accommodation: AC, less comfortable seat with less space.
  • Suitable for: Passengers with at most 2 luggage
  • Additional information: The ARL is located on the B floor of the terminal.
