Silom is located about 35km from Bangkok Airport (Suvarnabhumi) and there are 4 ways to get to it, i.e. train, private transfer, public taxi, and bus. Below are the details for each of the transportation options:

1. Train

The train is the most preferred method of transport to Silom because it’s affordable, quick, and comfortable enough.

To travel, here are the steps:

  1. Take the Airport Rail Link (ARL) from the Airport to Phaya Thai BTS Station
  2. Transfer to the BTS Skytrain and take the Silom Line to Chong Nonsi Station, which is located in the area itself.

Below are the details of taking the train:

  • Cost: THB 45 via the ARL and another THB 30 to Chong Nonsi Station.
  • Travel duration: 60-80 minutes
  • Seating accommodation: AC, less comfortable seat with less space.
  • Suitable for: Passengers with at most 2 luggage
  • Additional information: The train leaves every 15 minutes from the BKK and is located at terminal B.

2. Private Transfer

Transporting using a private transfer service is by far the most comfortable and luxurious travel experience you can get as you get to enjoy the door-to-door service while being able to choose the vehicle of your own choice. There are many companies to choose from and you can either get them from the Airport itself or search online. If you’re looking for one, we provide the service you need.

Below are the details of taking the private transfer:

  • Cost: THB 900 – THB 1,800 per trip
  • Travel duration: 45-60 minutes
  • Seating accommodation: AC, comfortable seat with privacy
  • Suitable for: All types of passengers
  • Additional information: The service includes everything, making it a hassle-free and seamless travel experience.

3. Public Taxi

Public taxi is the second-most preferred way to travel from Suvarnabhumi as it provides a similar level of comfort to the private transfer but at a much cheaper price. Taxis are located on level 1 of the terminal and are readily available.

Below are the details of taking the public taxi:

  • Cost: THB 450 – THB 650 per trip, excluding toll taxes
  • Travel duration: 45-65 minutes.
  • Seating accommodation: AC, comfortable seat with privacy
  • Suitable for: 2-4 passengers with 2-5 luggage.
  • Additional information: Public taxis operate on a metered basis. So avoid the one that refuses to use the meter as it’s one of the common scams in Thailand.

4. Bus

Taking a bus is by far the least preferred option because it costs just as much as the train but takes much longer to reach the destination and is less comfortable.

To travel, here are the steps:

  1. Take the free airport shuttle to the Public Transportation Center.
  2. From there, catch the Airport Rail Link (ARL) to Phaya Thai station.
  3. Transfer to bus number 76, which goes to Silom.

Below are the details of taking the train:

  • Cost: THB 45 from the Suvarnabhumi then another THB 20 for bus number 76
  • Travel duration: 90-120 minutes in total
  • Seating accommodation: AC, comfortable seat.
  • Suitable for: Passengers with at most 2 luggage
  • Additional information: The bus leaves every 30-35 minutes.
